Working Student Data Scientist

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the data science team to develop, implement, and deploy machine learning models, focusing on real-world business problems in feedback analytics.
• Assist in data acquisition efforts, including designing and developing web scraping solutions to collect and integrate relevant data.
• Contribute to data collection, preprocessing, analysis, and feature engineering to derive actionable insights, particularly from text-based data for LLM applications.
• Design and implement interactive data applications and prototypes using frameworks like RShiny or Streamlit to visualize insights, enable user interaction, and demonstrate model capabilities.
• Participate in the full lifecycle of data science projects, from understanding requirements to contributing to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Backend Engineers, ML Engineers, Product) to understand project requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
• Continuously develop your technical skills and knowledge in data science, application development, and AI through hands-on experience and mentorship.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and programming.
• Hands-on experience with at least one web scraping library/framework (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Scrapy in Python).
• Familiarity with building interactive web applications using RShiny or Streamlit.
• Basic understanding or experience with machine learning concepts and libraries/frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP preferred).
• Understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies quickly.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in German (B2 Minimum).
