Senior Platform Engineer – BigQuery & Data Infrastructure

At Predict42, we are transitioning from a startup to an Enterprise Scale-Up. Our core product, MIGO, is the feedback engine for some of the world’s largest retailers. We are currently restructuring into three autonomous product teams, and we need a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the "Platform" team’s most critical mission: Migrating 100% of our Data Warehouse operations to BigQuery and achieving major speed and scalability.

We don't just "use" data; we ensure its integrity is inviolable. As our BigQuery wizard, you will be the architect behind the scenes, ensuring that as we scale from 75k users to 1 million+, our performance stays lightning-fast and our costs stay optimized.

Career Hero

The Tech Stack & Your Role

We are moving  toward a modern, declarative, and validated data stack. Your mission includes:

  • BigQuery & ClickHouse Cloud: You will own our dual-engine strategy—migrating 100% of our DWH operations to BigQuery for deep analytics while leveraging ClickHouse Cloud for lightning-fast, real-time performance.
  • Declarative Data Pipelines: Lead the shift to Dataform. You will treat data transformations like software engineering—version-controlled, tested, and declarative.
  • Data Validation as a Core Shift: You will implement automated data validation frameworks. For us, data integrity isn't a "feature"—it's a foundational shift in our platform's reliability.
  • Architecture for AI: Build the high-performance pipelines that feed our "AI-First" engine, ensuring the LLMs have access to precise, validated data in milliseconds.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Automate the entire lifecycle of our GCP-based environment to ensure stability and rapid deployment.

Your Profile

  • The Data Architect: You have deep, hands-on experience with Google BigQuery (native procedures, optimization).
  • Software Mindset for Data: You are a fan of declarative code. Experience with Dataform (or dbt) is essential. You believe pipelines should be versioned and tested.
  • Validation Expert: You have a track record of building proactive data quality and validation layers into complex systems.
  • Pragmatic Engineer: You know how to balance "perfect" architecture with "shipping value." You enjoy solving the complex SQL and scaling challenges that come with millions of feedback records.
  • Mainz-Based: You want to be part of the local tech community in Mainz/Rhein-Main and collaborate in person with a high-caliber team.

Why Predict42?

  • Real Ownership: We are a team of owners. We have a dedicated 5% share pool for our employees because we want everyone to benefit from our growth.
  • 20% Tech-Debt Rule: We don’t just talk about quality; we schedule it. 20% of every sprint is strictly reserved for architectural cleanup, refactoring, and tackling tech debt.
  • AI-First Engine: Work on a product where AI isn't a buzzword—it’s the core engine. You build the pipes that make "Zero-Shot Intelligence" possible.
  • No Bureaucracy: Work directly with our CTO, CPO and Founders. We value the best argument, not the longest tenure.
  • Rhein/Main HQ: A modern workspace in a rising tech region, perfect for those who want to build a global SaaS.
