Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and deploy high-performance microservices that form the backbone of our innovative feedback analytics platform.
• Implement and optimize API endpoints to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing from our ClickHouse database, supporting various application features.
• Develop new backend features and APIs, owning them through the full development, testing, and deployment lifecycle in a serverless environment.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our backend systems, handling significant transaction volumes and user interactions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code, contributing to rigorous engineering practices and code reviews.
• Collaborate closely with our Data & Machine Learning Engineers, product managers, and frontend developers to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.
• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production services to ensure high availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django).
• Deep expertise and hands-on experience with ClickHouse for high-performance analytical queries and data storage within a backend application context.
• Experience with serverless Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (or equivalent) such as Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery (for querying data).
• Proven experience in designing, building, and deploying microservices architectures.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
• Experience with testing methodologies (unit, integration, end-to-end) and ensuring code quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• A strong interest and foundational understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), AI, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, particularly how backend services interact with them.
• Language: German (B2 Minimum).
